This is the best cooking class experience that I've ever attended. Sang Made was very helpful and detailed with his explanation. We learned more than just cooking, we learned about Balinese culture, Balinese spices and more of how the local Balinese people lives. The tour starts at the local market (the non-touristy type of market) where the local buys their produce for their home cooking. We then head back to the home of Lobong Culinary and learned about the experience from Sang Made. Too bad I can only give this experience 5 stars, I would've given it 8 stars out of 8 if needed. Keep up the great work Sang Made and team!

Simply put....AMAZING.As cafe owners in Australia my wife and I wanted to try our hand at some Balinese dishes. What we got was far more then that!We got a whole experience which I will be recommending to everyone who visits bali. From the local knowledge at the market to inviting us into their home. There is not a single thing overlook or goes unanswered. The food was delicious and definently needed a good sleep to let the meal rest.Great job guys!!!!!

Fantastic food and cultural experience. We just had an amazing time with Lobong Bali Cooking Class. The morning trip to the market was interesting and informative. Then cooking in the beautiful traditional family home was a magical experience. We loved the cooking class and the food we made was the tastiest we've had in Bali. Don't hesitate, book yourself in with Lobong - it is more than worth the money.

We just finished the class and we had a fantastic time. We loved going to the local market, learning about the ingredients and the Balinese way of life. The cooking was fun too and Dewa was a patient instructor. Thank you Lobong Cooking Class! This is a must do when visiting Bai.

I highly recommend this cooking class. The family host, who lead the market tour was so kind and he brought us to a real local market, not the touristic one. The cooking class was in his compound (traditional Balinese house) with his brother-in-law lead as a chef. We - I and another Australian couple - has so much fun cooking and enjoying what we cooked. His mom brought us to the her daily offering. It was one of the memorable day in Bali.

It was a special cooking class because we had only two reservations. Classes were held in Ubud's large family, which was much more comfortable and the chefs and staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was great to explain not only the food but also the culture and lifestyle of Ubud and Bali. If you can listen a little English, I highly recommend that you participate.I really enjoyed the cooking class in beautiful house. All the ingredients were fresh and chef was nice and kind. Before the cooking class, he took me to the local market and gave me a detailed description of local food ingredients. If you come to Ubud, I recommend you to try it.👍

This was a great experience. We were taken on a tour of the Payangan market, followed by cooking lessons in their family home. Sang Made gave us an excellent introduction to Balinese life and traditions, and his brother showed us how to prepare Balinese cuisine. Not just a cooking class, but a cultural experience.

This was one of our highlights in Indonesia. We learned a lot about the local ingredients at the market, about how the Balinese people live as well as preparing and cooking five traditional Balinese dishes. The price is extremely affordable (equivalent of £26) and will be recommending to other travellers! Make this part of your holiday too - you won't regret it!Thank you so much,Colum and Rebecca!

I booked the cooking class for my family and my parents. We thoroughly enjoyed the every aspect of the session, which was held in our host's traditional Balinese home. It was much more than just a market tour and cooking class. We got great insight into Balinese culture and the food we made was amazing! I will never forget the taste of freshly bbq'd chicken satay. Our host patiently answered all of our questions on local culture, cooking methods etc. so very kind! This tour really added depth and colour to our week long tour of Bali. Highly recommend.

We had a great time. Couldn't have been better. They are very responsive via email, have free pickup in Ubud, take you to a market in the morning, then you cook at their home (which you eat for lunch). Friendly, relaxed experience. Food was excellent. Price is very reasonable on their website.

I don't hesitate for one moment to highly recommend this enjoyable experience. Sang Made was a knowledgeable and professional host, sharing much insight into Balinese tradition and culture, whilst his brother-in-law, Chef Dewa, shared with us the knowledge, skills and techniques to create a most delicious meal. My friends and family are in for a treat when I get home!!

Can't recommend enough!!! A fantastic cooking class run by a genuinely wonderful family. We travelled all around Bali, and this was one of the highlights of our trip. You learn so much about a culture when you learn about their food. Sunday really went out of his way to make us feel welcome, and has fantastic English, so we took the opportunity to ask questions about lots of aspects of Balinese culture. They have such a beautiful home that we were welcomed into. The food we made whilst there was the best we had in Indonesia, I can't wait to try make it when we get home. Thanks again, please don't change a thing, you're running a lovely business.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE! We loved it! Highly recommend it :)Cooking course itself was great, we've learnt A LOT even though we're experienced cooks. The market they took us to was a legit Bali market with NO tourists, we got to now a lot of about history and culture of Bali and Indonesia. Tour guide and chef were amazing and lunch that we've prepared ourselves just outstanding!

We had an amazing time at Lobong Cooking School. Our host Sang Made was very warm and welcoming. After picking us up we went to the local fruit and vegetable market. Sang was extremely knowledgeable - not only did we learn a lot about local fruit and vegetables, we also got an extensive insight into balinese customs, religion and culture. The cooking class took place at the beautiful family compound, and apart from cooking we were also allowed to witness the temple offering ceremony conducted by Sang's mother. Dewa, the chef, took us through the tips and tricks of balinese cooking - from how to cook perfectly fluffy rice to making our own spicy sambal. He explained everything in detail and very patiently and we created a delicious 3-course vegetarian meal (vegetarian was optional) that we enjoyed in the lush surroundings of the family garden. Our day at Lobong exceeded our expectations and it will be one of our fondest memories of our Indonesia trip.
